And to my pleasant surprise, this morning I found out that we were picked as finalists for project of the week.  We are competing against another nursery for a little boy and a baby shower.  Pretty nifty. Nursery is DONE!!!

The nursery is done and I'm in love with it.  It is completely random, fun, colorful... all the things I hoped it would be. And I'm so glad we got it all done before Wilhelmina arrived. Check it out! :)

Finally finished up this wall. Of course we love, love, love Joe's painting http://www.jobastudios.com/ and it was wonderful to finally get the awesome green Mission desk from mom in the room and get these photos up. And now our awesome kitties from the Alameda Antique Faire have a perfect home and Amy's amazing quilt http://www.etsy.com/shop/AmyDunnDesigns can adorn the desk until Willie gets her paws on it and never lets go. :)

We ordered all of our pics from www.mpix.com.  I am so happy with the quality and service.  Thank goodness the post office didn't end up totally losing them. Almost did, but luckily they surfaced after just a couple days.

I initially bought this awesome height chart as a gift for a friend and then ended up buying one for us, right before we got pregnant.  It's super fun.  The giraffe picture has been in my bedroom, everywhere I've been, my entire life and now I think it's time it became my little girl's. :) And the amazing alphabet oil painting was done by my wonderful sister.  Eventually we'll have gorgeous handmade creations (an animal and a food) for every letter of the alphabet.  How gorgeous is this first one??? :)

I keep seeing all kinds of embroidery hoop fun and had to get in on it. I'm not an embroiderer by any means, but I took a stab with these two and a couple more that I'm still not sure I'm ready to display yet.  This one is a lyric from Dylan's 'Forever Young'. My dad and I and Scott and his mom danced to it at our wedding. :)

This is a lyric from 'Yellow' by Coldplay. At our wedding, our bridal party walked in to a string quartet version of the song and we played the real version of the song after the ceremony was complete.  Loved it!

We love all the love between our kitties and baby girl Bacon while we've been working on this room. The pregnancy and everything that's come with it has really seemed to bond all four of our furry babies. Can't wait til they meet their new little sister. :)

Vintage nursery goodies

I'm just about done with the nursery, but I found one last piece of furniture today on etsy.com and I'm still doing some rearranging.  (Wouldn't be me, if it wasn't last minute.)  So until I finish this week and receive our latest treasure, here's a sneak peek at the new goodie. I'd been looking for an ottoman and almost had one made, but this one is fun and surprisingly reasonably priced, considering the good shape it's in.  Yay for fun vintage finds! 

Labor Day Nursery Labor!

So we've been easing into setting up the nursery, but now I'm totally motivated.  This weekend (Labor Day weekend), I'm planning on getting A LOT done. Here's where we're @ as of Saturday morning...

Yet another pinterest.com inspired idea!  It's an IKEA Expedit bookcase http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/70103085 with some legs http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/00054564 for extra height to be sure to be @ the right height for changing poopy diapers. :)

As much as I like to pretend that I've got a plan and got things covered, my hubby's always looking out for me. I was determined to keep the crib on the other wall, but he encouraged me to rearrange and I love the way it looks.

So love this lamp.  Got an amazing deal on it at one of our favorite shops in Melbourne http://www.manta.com/c/mvrcbn4/patina, had it rewired and it's good to go. It even has a nightlight in the center!

Here is the crib in it's new location with it's fab handmade crib skirt.  

I had planned to tackle making the crib skirt myself. But when I found this lovely lady http://www.etsy.com/people/babycribtoddlersheet and she only charged me $26 (including shipping!) to make this perfectly pleated skirt, I couldn't resist. 

The clock against the wall is another lovely find that my mom & I spotted @ one of her favorite antique store in Melbourne.

These beautiful and unique art prints are going up just as soon as I fancy up some plain white IKEA frames. I have one more print on the way with seashells.  Totally reminds me of being a kid in Florida!

Nursery... Slowly but Surely

Wilhelmina's nursery started off slowly 99.5% due to me not wanting to deal with all of the random crap in our guest room.  But things are moving along swimmingly now thanks to my sweetie's handiwork and our silly boxer girl's helpful quality assurance assistance. She and the cats are in the room and supervising every step of the way.
