Weight watchers works!

Soooo I thoroughly enjoyed being pregnant. I really can't say that there was any part of it that I absolutely hated. Sure, it's strange and uncomfortable and does crazy things to your body and in turn to your loved ones and people in your general vicinity. But overall, I found all of it to be amazing. What a privilege to grow a life inside of you and then 9 months later share it's sweet soul and spirit with the world.

Of course with pregnancy comes weight gain. My dr didn't seem too concerned with how much I gained although I did feel that I was growing by the second. I really did try to eat well, but I definitely didn't sweat my weight much. I didn't have too many crazy cravings, but garlic pepperoncinis, lots of milk, mauna loa chocolate covered macadamias and outback steakhouse delicacies were among some of my faves.

Needless to say, I gained some weight. And thankfully I didn't panic when W had made her appearance and the weight was basically still there. Even though I was breastfeeding every 2 hours, the weight didn't fall off in a Hollywood minute. I honestly wasn't sweating it too much. But when my 6 week postpartum check up occurred and the weight hadn't budged, I knew I had to get motivated.

Thanks to my Mom's gentle nudging, I joined Weight watchers at the end of December. They offer a great plan for breastfeeding moms that allows you to slowly lose the weight. And I'm happy to report that as of today I'm down FIFTY (50) pounds! That's the 45 pounds of baby weight and five more! I'm 6 pounds from my goal weight I set with weight watchers too. I still need to get into better exercise habits. Once this busy time at work ends this week, I'll get on it.

And hopefully it goes without saying that the main goal is making sure W gets all the nourishment she needs. As you can see from her recent pics, we are good there! The pediatrician jokes that there's bluebell ice cream flowin out of me. :)

I've posted a couple before pics.. As in just before I had W. I'll post an after once I hit my goal weight. :)

Two teeth and first shoes!

This weekend was tough. Our sweet girl was working on a new tooth, which we've now learned translates to high fevers and projectile puke. She ended up at the pedi on Friday after a couple of big pukes and a 102.4 fever. Saturday consisted of lower grade fevers and lots of uncomfortable fussiness. But by Sunday the tooth had emerged and the fever was gone. Woohoo!

So she now has 2 bottom teeth! It's a bummer that these are her teething symptoms, but at least we know what to expect for the next one. These symptoms are super similar to her first tooth that came in just after mother's day.

On another note, W's first real shoes arrived today. Yeah, I know, she's barely sitting up on her own and not quite crawling. But every girl needs shoes, right. And these are just irresistible! Mary janes? Clouds? Pink? Green? Come on!!!

The peacock shoes are also ready for their 6 - 12 month debut. And the blue cloud Mary Janes will get put to use for 12 - 18 months. Mommy loves a good shoe sale!

Solid food!!

The fun has begun! So far she's tried cereal, green beans, peas and avocados. Cereal and peas are her faves so far. Avocados got a BIG thumbs down.

It's been super fun and super messy! Not sure who is enjoying it more. It might be Scott since he got a fancy Vitamix to make all the food.

Bon appetit!

Last pic is just a fun one from Tokyo Bowl the other night. No sushi for baby yet, we promise. :)

6 Month Photo Shoot

Here are some of my favorites from our monthly photo shoot.  6 months (really almost 7, we're late taking pics again this month)... man time is FLYING!!! She's eating peas and string beans, cereal too. She's about ready to sit up on her own and will be crawling any day now. For now, she LOVES rolling to get around.  Every day is even more entertaining and wonderful than the next!

Wardrobe change and time for some rolling...

One more wardrobe change. She's such a good sport!

Of course B had to get in on things...
